As this site is devoted so specifically to '41 - '46 Chevys, there is a lot of specific information on every detail you can probably think of having to do with those vehicles.

OLD TRUCKS - PHOTOGRAPHS

There are many PHOTOGRAPHS of OLD TRUCKS on these pages, most of them apparently taken by the owner of the website.

On the first page there are several photographs of interest, BUT SCROLL DOWN TOWARD THE BOTTOM, where there are links (under the list of dates that pages were added). Just click on the numbers to get to different pages of photos, but also click on the bright yellow "Classic Truck Photographs" link. Under that link, there is a "Click here to see thumbnail pictures of all the trucks on one page." I would have mentioned that first, but I wanted you to see what other things were on the site. AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THIS FIRST PAGE THERE IS A LINK TO A PAGE THAT WILL SHOW YOU WHAT THE PHOTOGRAPHER LOOKS LIKE....PLUS.....There are several links on that page to photographs he has taken of other subjects...and other odds and ends.

GREAT OLD TRUCK PHOTOS - IN THE U.K.

Try all three categories, though the earliest vehicles seem to be in the second and third category. After you click on one of them and the page changes, you'll have lots of links to click on at the left side of your screen. The links aren't underlined. SCROLL DOWN THE LEFT FRAME to see all of the choices. The pictures will appear in the right frame, so you don't have to keep changing pages back and forth.

A FEW EXAMPLES OF PICTURE TITLES:

Among MANY other choices of photos to look at are:

- "eco-friendly road sweeper" (Really, is this a "truck?" But it's so interesting!)

These are delightful old photographs, and they go on and on.

OLD RUSTY TRUCK
(What kind, I don't know)

It's deeply rusted and literally falling apart, but sitting in some kind of parking lot as if it's expecting someone to hop in and start it up, like a fossilized horse waiting to be saddled up. I don't know what kind of truck it is, though it looks like it could be a Model A Ford. You can check it out and laugh at my ignorance, but the front of it looks like the Model A cars I've drawn! The caption says it was photographed on Route 66 in New Mexico.

It's very picturesque.

This is by far the BEST site for old truck pictures on the web that I have found, and I have searched the web for years looking for old vehicles pictures. You just have to look around and start clicking and you'll find treasures that at first aren't apparent.

PHOTOS OF MANY OLD TRACTORS - SOMEPLACE IN WYOMING

It looks like these aren't presently working tractors for the most part, though possibly repairable. Some appear to be much older than others, and I assume they were gradually accumulated in this spot. There are lots of them. They're all parked near each other in some cold place with frost on the ground. I love the way old rusty vehicles look - usually - but the yellow tractor doesn't look that good with rust on it. I can see the words "Farmall" and "McCormick-Deering" and "Allis-Chalmers" on some of these. There must have been (may still be) a lot of farms in this area, and this is where the old tractors have been brought when no longer usable. This looks like a place that's frequented often even though out in the middle of nowhere. Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

OLD RUSTY FORDSON TRACTOR in CALIFORNIA DESERT

c. 1925 Fordson Tractor

Three-quarter view of tractor (from side/back), good light and shadow. Photo taken outdoors (well, it could be inside a museum!) against a very light (desert floor) background so it's very three-dimenisional looking. Just one small picture, but a good one for those who are interested in interesting old rusty vehicles.

This is on an Imperial Valley (California) Historical Society webpage. The tractor is one of the items they have on display at their Pioneers Museum.

JOHN'S OLD CAR AND TRUCK PICTURES

This page leads to more good pictures of old vehicles than most any one page that I've come across on the web.

The pictures are in several different collections, each on their own page. All the pictures are already large so you don't have to click on them to see a bigger picture.

It's a good, clean site, without irritating ads or other "junk" that makes it hard to get to what you want to get to and concentrate on it.

CLASSIC, ANTIQUE & VINTAGE CARS IN SOUTH AFRICA

They call their site "Africa's Premier Classic Car Website with 750 Vintage and Classic Car Pictures."

Scroll down the first page to where the little pictures of cars are. Next to each picture there are dates (such as "1898-1920") or names of manufacturers (such as "Mercedes-Benz") and just below they tell how many pictures are in each of these category. Click on the picture or the underlined words or dates to get to the page that has all the picture links to those particular kinds of cars. The whole first page is interesting, and there are links at the bottom. They have some very beautiful old cars in South Africa.

OLD STEAM ROLLERS seem to be very popular in the U.K. and Denmark - maybe elsewhere, but they have clubs dedicated to them. They restore them as club projects.

DANISH STEAMROLLER CLUB

In Denmark (well, of course, you say). There are a couple of photos of old restored steam rollers on this page, which is part of the DANISH STEAMROLLER CLUB website. Very interesting setting (perhaps not to those who live in Denmark, but from here in the U.S.)
